Job Description :

Itron is inviting applications from motivated fresh graduates for the role of Apprentice – Firmware Testing.
This position is well-suited for individuals eager to explore embedded systems, firmware validation, and hands-on testing of hardware-centric products. As an apprentice, you will gain exposure to firmware testing methodologies, automation practices, and real-time embedded environments. You will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the quality and reliability of smart metering and connected IoT solutions.This opportunity serves as a strong starting point for candidates aspiring to build a career in embedded systems, firmware testing, or automation.

Skills Required :

  • Basic understanding of embedded systems and firmware fundamentals
  • Programming knowledge, especially in Python
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating environments
  • Understanding of ARM-based microcontrollers
  • Knowledge of firmware or protocol testing
  • Good to Have:
  • Shell scripting
  • Robot Framework
  • Exposure to RF / battery-operated devices
  • Automation using C# or Python

Job Responsibilities :

  • Assist in firmware validation developed in C/Assembly
  • Work with ARM microcontroller-based systems
  • Perform protocol, functional, and regression testing
  • Support testing activities for RF-enabled and low-power devices
  • Contribute to automation initiatives using Python or C#
  • Coordinate with engineering teams across different locations
